Liminal Space

Liminal Space

Twilight is liminal space, betwixt and between the waking consciousness of the day and the dreamtime of the night. When I pause and allow it my full attention, it feels as if time is suspended and the worlds pause like dancers between phrases in the music…then I blink, take a breath…and the passage is made.

About Karen

I am a fifty-something anthropology student, an artist, dancer, photographer, healer, mother, grandmother and perennial seeker. I am distracted by shiny things and infused with a sense of wonder at the world around me and people in general. I am a “journey” person who often wishes that I could have a “destination” day at least every now and then…

Karen, your writing speaks to me deeply because our situations have so much in common though they are very different, but both involve a loss that involves part of our identity. I applaud, and envy, your writing about it — I can’t get past a daily, sort of indulgent, journal entry! But I do have, for some reason (grace?), a signed first edition of The Re-Enchantmenet of Everyday Life, and this seems to be a sign that it would be good to read that.

Ah, what a wonderful bit of serendipity, Ginny! Yes, do read the book, perhaps in lectio divina style. Thank you for the kind words and many blessings on you.
