The Magic Lingers


For me, an important part of “re-enchanting” my life is reconnecting with what is. If I try to make changes without being clear about what is, I could get rid of something wonderful. I could even do harm.


A big part of reconnecting with what is for me is reconnecting with nature. Even living in the city, nature is all around. Open windows, weeds growing in cracks of sidewalks or retaining walls, birds singing, breezes, sunrises, sunsets.

Some spells never lose their power. Queen Anne’s Lace in the rich, saturated low angle sunlight of a summer’s evening, always has the power to enchant me. Even years later. These photographs were taken over 7 years ago, in another place, with a much older camera than I enjoy now.

They’ve moved on. I’ve moved on. But the Magic lingers.
