Intrinsic Value

Of Value

Question, and not necessarily a rhetorical one: Does anything have intrinsic value? Does anyone?

Or is value something assigned? Bestowed upon by another? Is value the product of a relationship of some sort?

Take this dead leaf, for instance. If it had lain on the floor of the creek bed and no one had noticed it, would it still be beautiful? Would it be of value?
