365, Day 41: Silhouette

365, Day 41

I have never been to England and yet images of its great cathedrals dance in my mind. I love the way these massive structures dominate their landscapes and I love the way the evolving structures, from Anglo-Saxon through High Gothic, reflect the changing theology. I love the phrase “theology of light” and the way the stained glass windows of the English cathedrals allow for the light and shadow to meet and dance within the space of the cathedral.

One day, I hope to see scenes such as this one I’ve painted.
