365, Day 63: Around the Edges

365, Day 63

Again, I’m afraid this one is so delicate it might be difficult to appreciate in this format. But it’s beautifully evocative in person. The sliver of blue sky above and the sliver of the landscape below seemed to want to nestle in the curve of the penciled-in circle today and the birds almost seem to be flying out of the painting as I look at it.

This is a very minimalistic composition and, while I still find myself drawn to more “photorealistic” styles, I find I am appreciating more and more the power of suggestion as I continue with this spiritual practice.
