365, Day 82: Swinging on a Star

365, Day 82

Every now and then, God’s playful side comes out and she reminds me that spiritual practice does not necessarily equate with heavy, boring or serious. This was one such day. Painting in a friend’s kitchen, late, pushing my deadline, not sure what to paint and already one try rejected this image started to emerge. I started hearing the song “Swing on a Star” in my head and a playful crescent moon, with her attendant star, began suggesting themselves on paper. I remember grinning when I realized what was happening.

Spiritual practice and serious do not necessarily equate. Ok, got it. For now…
