365, Day 92: Dancing the Blues

365, Day 92

I am in the middle of a “theme & variation” phase in which these trees and, to a certain extent, the birds will not leave me alone. I wonder, sometimes, as I sit down to paint and the trees begin to appear, if I’m really in a rut. “Really,” I ask myself and the brush as it paints in these strangely familiar trees, “really? The trees? Again?” And I hear in response, “Yes, Karen, the trees. Again. Just paint…”

Sometimes there just is no “why”. And sometimes the why is answered in the dancing.
