365, Day 171: Hopes and Fears

365, Day 171

I debated with my Muse in the matter of palm trees here. The birds said no.

I’m not sure what the imagery here is evoking. Shipwreck? Marooned? Lost at sea? Refuge? Escape? I’ve never painted an island before…Maybe it’s just an island and I’m over thinking it all.

I’m amazed, actually, to be painting at all given the weight I feel on me at the moment. Practice does tell out…
