365, Day 181:Shape Shifting


It’s always interesting to me when the scene I’m painting changes as I’m painting it. I woke up on this particular morning to see a frosty landscape outside the window. That was the visual prompt for the painting. But, as I progressed, I started to wonder. This looks like a shoreline with waves crashing into it.

When I showed the painting to my fiancé, he asked, “Ocean?”

I’m still not sure. Is it a “landscape”? Or a “seascape”? Does it matter?
